Curriculum

Academics at First Trinity Academy

At First Trinity Academy, our academic program is designed to give students a strong foundation while preparing them for the future. We provide a private school environment with small class sizes, personalized instruction, and a supportive learning atmosphere where students are known, encouraged, and challenged.

Our curriculum blends traditional core subjects with hands-on STEAM learning, helping students develop the knowledge, confidence, and thinking skills needed for academic success and real-world problem solving.

A Strong Academic Foundation

Students receive instruction in the core subject areas, including:

Reading and English Language Arts

Students build skills in phonics, vocabulary, fluency, reading comprehension, grammar, writing, speaking, listening, and literary appreciation. Reading is a central part of our academic program, and students are supported according to their individual needs.

Mathematics

Students develop strong number sense, computation skills, problem-solving strategies, measurement, geometry, data interpretation, and age-appropriate algebraic thinking. Math instruction encourages students to understand concepts, explain their reasoning, and apply what they learn.

Science

Students explore the natural world through observation, questioning, investigation, and hands-on learning. Science topics may include life science, earth science, physical science, biology, chemistry, ecology, zoology, and botany.

Social Studies, Civics, History, and Geography

Students learn about communities, cultures, American history, world history, civic responsibility, government, geography, map skills, natural resources, and how people interact with the world around them.

Hands-On STEAM Learning

First Trinity Academy is a hands-on STEAM school with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. Our STEAM approach encourages students to think critically, work creatively, and solve problems with confidence.

Students are introduced to future-focused learning areas, including:

Technology and Digital Innovation

Students build age-appropriate technology skills, digital literacy, research skills, and responsible technology habits.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Students are introduced to Artificial Intelligence in age-appropriate ways, helping them understand how technology is shaping the future of learning, careers, communication, and problem solving.

Engineering and Design Thinking

Students participate in hands-on activities that encourage them to plan, build, test, improve, and explain their ideas.

The Arts and Music

Art and music are important parts of our STEAM program. Students develop creativity, expression, appreciation, listening skills, rhythm, design awareness, and cultural understanding.

World Languages

First Trinity Academy values global learning and cultural awareness. Students have opportunities to study world languages, including Spanish and Mandarin.

Mandarin and Spanish help students develop communication skills, cultural appreciation, and a broader understanding of the world. Mandarin is offered as an elective, giving students exposure to one of the world’s most widely spoken languages.

Physical Education and Whole-Child Development

Students participate in physical education and recess to support health, movement, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. We believe education should support the whole child academically, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Personalized Learning in a Small School Setting

Our small classroom environment allows teachers to better understand each student’s strengths, needs, and learning style. Students receive support, encouragement, and appropriate academic challenges so they can grow with confidence.
